Discovery Center has arranged & organized everything for you with this one day ski holiday amid beautiful surroundings. The trip includes roundtrip transportation (with complimentary coffee and donuts before you start out) & ski fees (including slope fee, lesson & lift ticket). The bus trip takes about an hour, so most of your day will be spent at the club. Bring lunch or purchase one at the club's cafeteria or restaurant. If you've never been on skis before, or have limited experience, this trip is for you. The club has a variety of runs from beginner to advanced. The certified instructors teach with an emphasis on safety, skill and, most important, FUN. Whether relaxing in front of a blazing fire, skiing the slopes or meeting new friends, this trip will definitely keep you warm. Even if you've never been on skis, you can enjoy the experience of gliding over the snow with a speed that is both surprising & exhilarating. Cross-country skiing is a great winter sport for city dwellers. It gets you out of your house or apartment, allows you to take advantage of the parks. Also becoming an alternative to winter running-providing the same type of exercise with the advantage of keeping you warm. Its a sport which exercises your whole body while keeping your heart rate at a consistent level. This class is geared for both beginners & people who have some ski experience. To others it's an exhilarating way to exercise & stay in shape. Still others think of it as the ideal way to meet people. Whatever your reason, its as fun as it is exciting, helping you to develop physical self-confidence, & to improve coordination & balance while you experience one of the most popular sports. This class takes place at a conveniently located indoor rink in Skokie. The rink is kept at a comfortable temperature, so wear light clothing (a sweater or light jacket & gloves). Having fun doesn't stop the skating from being serious. The instructors are experienced, highly qualified professionals who enjoy teaching adults. They want the students to relax & feel comfortable on the ice & progress at their own pace. This class is geared to the rank beginner (no experience) & those with some skating experience.
