2658 COMP - BUILD & REPAIR A Pentium COMPUTER

Have you ever seen the inside of a computer case? Do you know what a motherboard is? Are you aware of the differences between a Pentium and an AMD processor? Here's your chance to become familiar with the different compnents in an IBM compatible computer. Learn how your computer works, how to dramatically increase your system performance and how to avoid costly computer repair with basic preventive measures. Also covered are the differences between DDRAM, SDRAM and Dual Channel Memory. What does CD-RW, CD ROM, DVD ROM, and DVD-RW mean? This class covers optical drives, network cards, video cards, audio cards, and modems (dial-up, DSL and Cable).
During this course you'll have the opportunity to observe and participate in the construction of an IBM compatible computer. You will leave this class with the knowledge necessary to build and configure your own PC. Material Fee:$15
