Experience the thrill of flight! Truly a unique and exciting experience. An F.A.A. certified flight instructor will introduce you to the wonderful world of learning to fly. First, you'll learn about the basic principles of flying here at the
Discovery Center and then you'll get out to a local airport and actually fly an airplane yourself...
(Under, of course, the watchful eye of your experienced instructor. Each aircraft is equipped with a completely redundant, dual set of controls. You sit in the pilot's chair while the instructor sits to your right so that he'll be able to correct
any errors you might make).
This fantastic lesson should not be confused with an "airplane ride," where one is passive and watches someone else do the flying. The whole idea of this rewarding experience is to get you to do as much of the flying as possible - to push
you to your potential.
The student will do all of the pre-flight procedures, will taxi the aircraft, talk to the control tower to get take off clearance, take the plane off, and once airborne, do many of the in-flight maneuvers. Sorry, you won't be allowed to land on
your first time out!
Of course, the instructor will be sitting next to the student telling you to "push this" and "pull that," but you'll be doing 95% of the flying.This 2 1/2 hour plus adventure (two hours classroom, 30 to 40 minutes in the
airplane) is an outstanding value and makes a terrific gift idea for anyone who loves to fly or has ever dreamed of actually learning how to fly.
We guarantee that you will remember this flight experience for the rest of your life. A seperate Material/Flight Fee of $110 will be payable to the Flight School on the day of the class.
